Winchester Adds AA Super Spreader Target Load to Shotshell Line

With summer shooting sports in full swing, Winchester Ammunition AA Super Spreader target loads are designed for close-range sporting clays and other target shooting applications.

The new shotshell is offered in 12 gauge and uses a hinged wad and specialized shot column intended to produce wider patterns shortly after the pellets exit the barrel. According to Winchester, the load delivers patterns that are 70 percent larger at 20 yards when compared with standard target ammunition.

Two configurations are available. The AAS128 load features a 1 1/8-ounce payload of No. 8 shot at a listed velocity of 1,250 feet per second. The AASL128 load carries a 1-ounce payload of No. 8 shot at the same velocity. Both loads are 2 3/4 inches in length and have a suggested retail price of $16.23 per box.

Winchester said the Super Spreader loads use a clean-burning powder and primer system designed to promote consistent performance.
