Hawke Optics’ new Vantage IR 1-4×20 Turkey Dot Scope finished in Mossy Oak Bottomland camouflage features a low-power variable magnification range intended for close to mid-range turkey hunting. At 1x it is designed for quick target acquisition, while higher magnification up to 4x is meant to aid shot placement at longer distances. Hawke lists eye relief at four inches, making the optic compatible with a range of shotgun platforms.
The Vantage IR uses Hawke’s Turkey Dot IR reticle, which includes a 2-MOA illuminated center dot surrounded by an illuminated horseshoe. At 4x magnification the horseshoe subtends 10 inches at 50 yards. Additional floating reference posts appear at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. Illumination is available in red and green settings through a glass-etched reticle.
Adjustments are made using capped low-profile turrets with ½-MOA clicks. The scope is built on a 1-inch monolithic tube and includes a fast-focus eyepiece and a high-torque zoom ring. Hawke said the optic is nitrogen purged and sealed to be waterproof fogproof and shock resistant.
Included accessories consist of an aluminum zoom throw lever, flip-up lens covers and a honeycomb sunshade.
The scope and included rings (nice touch, no chasing down rings) are finished in Mossy Oak Bottomland camouflage. Additional information is available through Hawke Optics.
