Vortex Optics recetnly began selling their Talon HD 10K Ballistic Laser Rangefinding binoculars, combining ranging capability, onboard environmental sensors and integrated ballistic calculations in a single optic.
Both models feature a laser rangefinder rated to 10,000 yards for ranging and stage planning, along with Vortex’s HD optical system. An Active Matrix red OLED display presents ranging and ballistic data in the binocular’s field of view and can be customized by the user.
The Talon HD 10K also incorporates onboard sensors that measure temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, compass bearing and inclination. Wind bearing capture mode allows users to record wind direction and speed, while in-display solutions for wind and drop are generated through the integrated GeoBallistics solver. Shooters can store multiple ballistic profiles or upload custom data for specific rifles and ammunition.
Connectivity is provided through Vortex Relay, a closed wireless network designed to share real-time ballistic, environmental and rifle-specific information between compatible Vortex devices. While the Talon HD 10K can operate as a stand-alone unit, Relay allows users to link the binoculars with other supported equipment in their system.
The new line includes two models: a 10×42 version selling for $2,300 and a 12×50 version for around $2,500. Learn more at Vortex Optics.
