TriStar Arms, known for producing affordable, dependable shotguns and handguns, just pulled the trigger on something entirely new: its first-ever rifle. Meet the KR22, a lightweight, semi-auto .22 LR designed for plinking, small-game hunting and training.

For years, TriStar has worn the “Value Experts” label proudly, carving out a reputation for shotguns known to punch above their price tag. Now, they’re bringing that same philosophy into rimfires.

A .22 Built for the People

At just under 5 pounds, the KR22 is trim and handy—easy to tote through squirrel woods or for a day on the range. It runs on a blowback semi-auto action chambered in .22 LR, with controls designed to make it as shooter-friendly as possible. Southpaws will appreciate the reversible bolt handle, while the adjustable comb lets you dial in a perfect cheek weld. The rifle comes optics-ready with an integrated Picatinny rail and features a suppressor-ready threaded barrel (½×28 RH). It ships with two 10-round rotary mags but is also compatible with standard Ruger 10/22 magazines—a big plus for anyone who already owns a bucket of them.

Ryan Bader, President of TriStar Arms, called the rifle’s debut “a major milestone,” noting the KR22 delivers the same reliability and affordability that TriStar fans have come to expect. TriStar’s first foray into rifles isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s giving shooters a rock-solid .22 LR at a price that’s tough to beat. It should be on store shelves now at authorized TriStar dealers.
