Catamount Mountain: Exploring the Best Activities
January 20, 2025 •Connor Merritt
You’d be hard pressed to find an affordable multi-season tag that opens elk hunting opportunities and more, but Washington state is offering just that. Better yet, the application period for a Washington state multi-season tag doesn’t end until March 31, so there is still plenty of time to apply and prep.
Though called a multi-season tag, the first part of the application process is applying to the multi-season draw. The draw application is a thrifty $7.10 for Washington state residents, and a reasonable $110.50 for non-residential applicants. The next step is checking back in April to see if your number was pulled, at which point you can apply for a multi-season deer tag for $139.10, or a multi-season elk tag for $182.00—and that price is for residents and non-residents!
Even after April, you can still keep taps on tags until mid-August when (in the off chance) there are left over tags for sale.
You can read more about the multi-season tag in the Washington Big Game Hunting Regulations (2024).
Applying for the lottery can be done online, through a license vendor, or by calling 1-866-246-9453.
And here is where it gets sneaky! The list that shows up next doesn’t have the tag application listed. However, it’s easy to find by following the next steps:
Scroll down to the “Hunting” section of available products, and select “View Category”
At the top of the page, make sure the drop-down menu that reads “Valid For 2024” is set to 2025.
Once that’s set, your screen should look like this—with the application for both deer and elk listed right at the top!
You will have to create an account to apply, but we tested the process, and it took under a minute (as long as you have your drivers license or other identification nearby.) From your account profile, your “Special Hunt Wins” can be found on the left side of the screen.
This is where you’ll check in April to see if you won!
iSportsman wishes you the best of luck on this potential Washington state adventure.
