Many of those who have served have found that outdoor sports, such has hunting, fishing, shooting, and more, are an excellent way to reconnect with nature and themselves. That’s why many places such as Atterbury-Muscatatuck offer Wounded Hero hunts especially for them. One such hunt, the Wounded Hero Spring Turkey hunt, will be happening from April 25, 2024-April 28, 2024, and is by application only. 

Applications for the Wounded Hero hunt is available now. If you are a veteran who has been wounded in combat, you can request an application by emailing: ng.in.inarng.mbx.hunting-program@army.mil .

Other available spring turkey hunts at Atterbury-Muscatatuck include: 

• The 2024 Public Spring Turkey Lottery: Entries accepted between February 15, 2024-April 1, 2024.  
• The Youth Spring Turkey: Applications accepted from February 15, 2024-March 31, 2024. 
• Regular spring turkey season at Atterbury-Muscatatuck is from April 29,2024- to May 12, 2024
