Chris Sykes, a military veteran, achieved a monumental feat on public land at Kansas’ Fort Riley. After four seasons of hunting the base, Sykes spotted a massive typical buck from his tree stand. With five distinctive drop tines and an inside spread of nearly 20 inches, the buck is one of Ohio’s most remarkable youth season trophies. Read the full story on Outdoor Life.
After work on November 21, Chris Barham headed into the woods of Southampton County, Virginia. Just before reaching his field setup, he spotted a group of five bucks feeding. Among them was a wide-racked giant, a clear standout. Stalking along the edge of the field, Barham steadied his aim and dropped the 20-inch-wide, nine-point buck with a single shot from his 20-gauge slug gun. Not content to stop there, he tagged a doe later that evening, rounding out one of his best hunting days. Read the full story on Game & Fish.

On the second day of the season, his patience paid off when the massive buck stepped into range just after first light. With a clean shot, Anderson secured the 191-2/8” Boone & Crockett trophy.
