Bobcat Crashes Turkey Hunt: Caught on Video

A Wisconsin turkey hunter got the kind of close encounter nobody adds to the preseason checklist when a bobcat launched onto him while he was calling gobblers. Carson Bender, 19, was set up against a tree near Nekoosa when the cat jumped in, scratched him through his camo shirt and then bolted when Bender shook it off. The story made the rounds on Instagram where Outdoor Life eventually picked up the story.

The kicker? Bender still called in a gobblng tom with some hens moments after the encounter, but missed. Undeterred, he went back to the same spot a few days later with his 20-gauge and tagged a 22-pound double-bearded gobbler. Apparently, the only thing harder to spook than a spring tom is a determined turkey hunter.
