Two Montana men are facing felony charges after authorities say they found them with 223 ducks—a pile of birds that blows well past any “I lost count” excuse. According to MeatEater, the men face fines up to $50,000, up to five years in prison and possible loss of hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for up to three years.

Montana values each duck at $25 under state law, putting the alleged stockpile at $5,575. That’s a lot of greenheads, a lot of explaining and a sharp reminder that game laws are not suggestions printed in camo ink.
