How to Buy Your Indiana Fishing License 

Buying a fishing license in Indiana is straightforward. You can purchase your license in three ways: 

  • Online: Visit the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website and purchase a license through their secure portal. 
  • In-Person: Licenses can be purchased at many local bait shops, sporting goods stores, and some Walmart locations. You can also go to the DNR Customer Service Center at:

  • By Mail: Send your order with the following: 
    • Name 
    • Date of birth 
    • Include a copy of hunter education certificate or card if born after Dec. 31, 1986

    • Height, weight, color of hair, and color of eyes 
    • Social Security number (this is mandatory) 
    • Specify the licenses including the season (i.e. deer for muzzleloader)
    • Send check, money order, or credit card number and expiration date for licenses made payable to Indiana DNR:
